The PCF8575 is a remote 16-bit I/O expander for the I2C bus with a hardware address of 0x40 and has a 133-millisecond reset time. It provides general-purpose remote I/O expansion for most microcontroller families via the I2C interface serial clock (SCL) and serial data (SDA). The PCF8575 contains an 8-bit input register that reflects the state of the device pins and an 8-bit output register that allows reading and writing to the state of the device pins. The PCF8575 is designed to operate at 2V to 5.5V and can provide reliable high-speed data transfer. It can be used with a variety of microcontrollers, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other popular development platforms. With its compact size and easy-to-use I2C interface, the PCF8575 is an ideal solution for adding additional input/output capabilities to a wide range of electronic devices and applications.
