The PCA9538ABSH-P is a low power 8-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander optimized for dimming and blinking 8 LED strings. The device also has 1Kb of E2PROM for storing LED sequences and a default PWM value. PCA9538ABSH-P has 4 software programmable LED blink rates, 5 dimming levels and 5 intensity levels. There is Potential to Inhibit all blinking with 8 step dimming blinking control register. Potential to do Overall and Bank Dimming, or do Grayscale Dimming with user programmable dimming individual register. Its SMBus alert on LED load change will make this device suitable for mobile phone backlighting control and LED status indicators or Front Panel Lights. Additonally, 16-Bit Internal PWM controller Up/Down Control by Software is provided. Automatic Power Down when the device is disabled, with LED state and PWM value stored in E2PROM. This product is qualified to AEC-Q100.
