how does a mass airflow sensor work

The mass airflow sensor (MAF) is a critical component in a vehicle's engine management system, responsible for measuring the amount of air entering the engine. This information is then used by the engine control unit to determine the correct air-fuel mixture for optimal combustion and performance. The MAF sensor works by using a heated wire or film to measure the airflow passing through it. As air flows over the sensor, it cools the heated element, causing the sensor to increase the electrical current to maintain the preset temperature. This change in electrical current is then converted into a signal that the engine control unit can use to adjust the fuel delivery.
